ireISAF Commander Condemns Attacks Against Afghan Women and Children in Herat

KABUL, Afghanistan (July 10, 2013) – The International Security Assistance Force strongly condemns the killing of 22 people this week when a motorized vehicle was destroyed by an improvised explosive device in the Obe District of Western Herat Province.

Enemies of Afghanistan continue to kill innocent civilians with women and children as the victims of their violence. This particular attack against Afghan citizens included the murder of at least a dozen women.

“These continued acts of murder against innocent women and children are appalling and unacceptable,” said Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, ISAF commander. “On behalf of the coalition, I express my sincere condolences to the victims’ families. ISAF will continue to fully support the Afghan National Security Forces as they protect the people from the terror brought about by the enemies of Afghanistan.”
